Claim presented shortly after calls to the agent with coverage questions

Occurring late at night or in remote locations
Vehicle rendered inoperable but no police or tow service contacted
No independent witnesses

INDICATORS OF PHYSICAL DAMAGE FRAUD
Damage type and location do not match up between the involved vehicles
Extensive physical damage to one or both vehicles, but no police notified
Vehicle rendered inoperable, yet no record of vehicle being towed
Vehicle previously involved in accident and/or a prior total loss
INDICATORS OF AUTO THEFT FRAUD
Delayed report of theft to Police and insurance carrier
Theft occurred at end of lease period or when owner is delinquent on loan
Theft occurred at end of policy period or after cancellation notice sent
Vehicle was prior total loss/salvage
Vehicle recently purchased for cash without bill of sale
Theft occurs after job-loss/layoff
